The Nigerians Hypocrisy : A Case Study of Arotile's mourners

No doubt Nigeria has a soft spot for its feminine patriots on the surface especially when you put your curves on display often, you will always enjoy empathy at the time of misfortune. The fact that women are still not on the same pedestal with men in this country is a fact forget noise making from the pro-feminism sisters . The fact that all animals are not equal is a reality. How many Nigerians actually know that the likes of Tolulope Arotile's exist within our shore? Probably only those in Nigerian Air Force and those of us who have watched the video from the Nigerian Air Force show casing her and her partner before now have an idea about her person. No doubt Tacha and Mercy are very much popular than her and her colleague. Then you ask yourself what do we celebrate as a people? What do we promote as a Nation?

How fighter pilot Arotile died - NAF Investigative Report

The announcement of her death by NAF raised a lot of consciousness about her personality. Without much consideration for the event that led to her death the public agreeably assumed that she was murdered. The submission too was out of our hypocrisy as a people because how many of those with that submission bother to ask how and why they think so. One good thing about Nigerians is the ability to make noise about everything but do nothing about things that radiate values.

You would have taught that #InvestigateArotile'sdeath would have still be trending? So soon that the topic has changed and our new subject of discussion is #BBN lockdown with #Dorathy in focus.

BBNaija 2020: Why Everyone is Talking about Dorathy Today -- SEE ...

Wait a minute you mean this is how this country will forget Tolupe Arotile the terrorist slayer at the expense of new slay queens from BBN lockdown? Where are those protesters supporting politicians on trials for corruption? Where are the pro feminism supporters club that often lead hastag whenever a female become a casualty? Has late Tolulope suddenly become a male that they feel it doesn't matter for them to lend a voice and call for investigation or call for her to be immortalized. The same people calling Dbanj names over rape allegation yet to be substantiated.

Nigerian Youths, 'Shine Your Eyes' - Pointblank News

As youth of this country do we really care about ourselves? Yes she might have been fortunate to have become a helicopter pilot at 23 for NAF when some are still struggling with admission process and others looking for jobs, that does not rule out the fact that she is a young adult. How come National Youth Council of Nigeria - NYCN don't claim to have known her, when her and her contemporaries in the war front with terrorists are symbols of young patriotism. What of the state of her origin have they claimed her, demanded investigation too or plan to immortalize her? Is it because she is not a celebrity that will add flavor of entertainment to campaign ground? What of the various women groups that wanted the head of  Senator Abbo on a plate for beating a woman in sex toy shop? They are on lock-down staying safe so they have no comment too.

It has suddenly become our culture to close eyes to what matters and dwell on things without substance. How do I explain to a little girl in the nearest future that there was once a girl called Tolupe Arotile with this high level of hypocrisy bedeviling our sense of judgement. As individual we need to withdraw from popular position and opinions and champion course that promotes values.

May her soul and the souls of those who have suffered Martyrdom for the unity of this country rest in peace. Amen

Ash Wednesday 2020 - A time to really wear black!

On Ash Wednesday, it is always easy to know the Catholics or people that attend orthodox churches in your neighborhood. They are always easy for you to spot on the street with ash on their fore heads. People outside the faith see this symbol as a mark of identification of faith while the people who wore the ash know it is a reminder of the 'worthlessness" of life.

To the Catholics, black is not to good a color that is why the color purple is often in use in place of black. Then why will the Catholics in Nigeria resolve to wear black on Ash Wednesday instead of the traditional purple? The people of God in her leaders chose to wear black for the following reasons;

To protest the loss of innocent lives as a result of Religious killings that have refuse to stop despite the public outcry.

To as well mourn the dead especially victims of issues emanating from insecurity in the land.

To remind us all, once more of the famous quotes "Vanities upon vanities all is vanities" and "You are dust and unto dust you shall return"

This singular act is expected to speak to us as individual on the need for repentance and a call for good deed as a person for a better society as whole.

As a society it is a reminder for us to value human lives and a call to protect human lives and rights.

For the Government it is a reminder that the people have lost confidence in its duty to protect them from insecurity be deviling the land.

May God heal our land.

Amen
